BIR-E-ALI

Bir-e-Ali is among the famous Well in Medina, the word BIR is an Arabic word which means Well. The other name of Bir-e-Ali is “Well of Ali”. It is situated in Dhu'l-Hulayfah is East of Medina. It is near to the Masjid-e-Sharjah.

The question is why this Well is much famous? And why it is from the name of Hazrat Ali? Here there is the answer! For it. This Well is famous because when returning to medina from an expedition, the army of Hazrat Ali once ran out of the water. They all were very thrust and there was no water to for them all of them, So they all decided to dig a Well so that they all may drink the water up to their fill! So they all started to dig a well near to the mosque of Sharjah, after the much hard work and time, by the grace of Allah they sawed a stream of fresh water and they make a proper Well there is drink water up to their fill.

This well is still present in its real form as it was made by Hazrat Ali people still used to fetch water from that well and drink and use for it household purposes. As all the  Muslims wanted to practice all those things which were practiced by the companion of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H), So this Well is also a center of attraction for all of the Muslims throughout the world. It is the wish of many Muslims to fetch water from that Well and drink up to their fill.

After the research, it has been found that the water from that Well is fresh and have sweet taste it is like a Water from the heavens. Many people used to go there and fetch water and drink up to their fill. As every Muslim wants to be there and do Ziarat of the places which have their histories and have the origin of Islam.
